Walcot Hall is the perfect civil ceremony wedding venue. It has a choice of three rooms and one outdoor space licensed for civil marriages. This means couples are able to host their entire wedding celebrations with the estate.
The Main Hall has so far proved to be the most popular choice for a ceremony, with marble columns, ornate ceiling and a floating staircase sweeping into the entrance hall. This room can be hired for two hours and will seat up to 125 guests plus space for standing.
The Ballroom and Anteroom are the other two rooms that are licensed for wedding ceremonies at Walcot Hall. These are separated from the Main Hall by a courtyard.
The Anteroom is perfect for an intimate ceremony of less than 50 guests. Alternatively the Ballroom itself which is a dramatic and naturally light rooms allows 180 guests to be seated for a ceremony, surrounded by stunning views.
The Earl of Powis, Edward Clive built the freestanding Ballroom at Walcot Hall in around 1800 and it has since seen over two centuries of magnificent occasions. The current owners have restored it to it’s former glory and it is now available to hire.
All of our cottages and glamping ‘Hidden Treasures’ fit in well with the impressive and energetic ambiance of this renowned estate.
Walcot Hall is best known for its idyllic setting, which makes a unique wedding location and houses some of the most characterful accommodation in Shropshire. The two complement each other, as it is often hard to find an ideal wedding venue with accommodation of the same level for the whole family!
