Built in 1720 Stock Gaylard is a Georgian House overlooking an ancient fallow deer park.

The estate is approximately 1800 acres with around 300 acres of predominantly oak woodland. A 14th-century dovecote can be found in the garden.

We have an ethos of conservation and preservation and to help to preserve our country estate we offer Yurt holidays.

The house is open to the public in April, May and September and we welcome pre-booked groups at other times.

Approximately half way between Sherborne and Sturminster Newton, on the A3030 opposite turning to Kingstag B3143 Turn down drive between two stone pillars at the Lodge.

You can take the train to Sherborne and a taxi for about 15 mins, taxis wait at the station.

Whether you are looking for a glamping getaway with family and friends, a romantic luxury break for two or a small family break, we have holidays on our country estate in Dorset to suit everyone!

The sites

Sleeping up to 5 people in each yurt.  The yurts were originally designed for two families going on holiday together, they also make a great place for reunion and birthday group

Brickles is made up of 3 yurts, one living yurt and two sleeping yurts for up to 10 people.

Stroud Withybed is made up of four yurts, one living yurt and three sleeping for up to 14 people.

Parsons Copse site is a double decker bus, bunk house and yurt sleeping up to 11 people

Sawpit wagon and shepherds hut sleep up to 4 people and is the perfect secluded getaway for couples or a family of four on their own.
