Overview

The fine Palladian style house was commissioned by Sir Thomas Clifton in 1752 to replace a previous house on the site, the seat of the Clifton family.

The house survives with little alteration today and is regarded as one of the best works of the eminent architect, John Carr of York. He spent ten years completing the design, which incorporated some of the earlier 16th-century house, the remains of which are still visible in the Courtyard and West Wing.

Please come along for a tour of the Georgian Hall.

Our newly refurbished West Wing has the facilities to cater for a event in a formal or informal style with food and beverages available. There are facilities available to meet all your function’s needs with ample car parking / disabled parking on site. Ramp and lift access is available to the conference suites.

Why not let us take the strain out of organising your next private function?

Group Visits
Group Visits

Group tours are welcome by prior arrangement, for groups of 10 or more people. Our tours give an insight into the history of the colourful Clifton family, who were accused of conspiracy during the Lancashire plot to restore James II to the throne. The 78 acres of mature parkland surrounding the Hall can also be explored at your own leisure.

We offer a full range of refreshment options. Should you wish to make a booking, please contact the Estate Office and we will send a booking form to confirm your requirements. A tour of Lytham Hall lasts about one hour.

Weddings

We are delighted that you are considering holding your Wedding with us here at Lytham Hall. Lytham Hall is a fine grade 1 listed 18th Century Georgian manor house, which sits at the end of a mile long driveway surrounded on all sides by almost 80 acres of parkland.

We are licensed for civil ceremonies or civil partnership ceremonies in both the Georgian Hall and our newly refurbished West Wing. Both are full of charm, character and steeped in history. Large parties in excess of 90 for a sit down meal can be accommodated in a marquee reception on the front lawn. For such occasions the hall can be used for photographs, drinks and canapes or a ceremony and then guests would go through to the marquee for the meal and evening entertainment
