Fun Facts

The Luttrell Psalter, written and illuminated (illustrated) in England early in the 14th century for Sir Geoffrey Luttrell of Irnham in Lincolnshire, is one of the most famous manuscripts in the world on account of the numerous scenes of everyday life that mingle with the religious images on its pages.

Irnham Village has remained virtually unchanged for a hundred years making it one of the most beautiful stone villages in Lincolnshire.

Irnham village revolves round Irnham Hall and the award winning Griffin Inn Pub. Irnham Hall with its attractive grey stone and mullion windows dates back to 1380 and is today the private home of the Benton Jones family. It has remained virtually unchanged since 1510 and has only been partially restored inside after a fire in 1887 to make it a comfortable family home.

The family who once held the manor here also owned the famous Luttrell Psalter which is now housed in the British Museum. The Benton Jones family has lived at Irnham for 5 generations and the family are thrilled to be able to invite you to share the beauty of their heritage on your wedding day.

Weddings

An outstanding marriage begins at an outstanding venue. One of South Lincolnshire's best kept secrets, Irnham Hall, is an enchanting, privately owned and unsurpassably romantic stately home built in 1380-1510.

Through the inviting gates, down the drive, you will find stunning architecture of the Hall itself, only surpassed by the grounds it rests in.

Take your guests on a journey of discovery through the captivating gardens and hedge arches grounds and into the magical calmness of the walled garden.

A family run business Leila and Jamie Benton Jones head the Weddings team at Irnham Hall and are always on hand to help with any questions and deliver the perfect day.

We hired Irnham Hall for our corporate Christmas drinks - it was the perfect venue for us as having a bar area which allowed some of our team to stay longer. Taxis were booked and we thought the catering was superb.
