Fursdon House has evolved from a modest cob and thatch dwelling to the elegant Georgian manor house you see today. Behind its façade lie centuries of history.
The Fursdon family has lived on this site since 1259. A tour of the house reflects the evolution and fluctuating fortunes of a family steeped in the tradition of land ownership and farming. The intimate family museum reflects this long history and some 18th and 19th-century family costumes are displayed.
Visitors can also enjoy the attractive gardens and grounds with stunning views and enjoy a cream tea in The Coach Hall tea room. The Coach Hall can be hired for small corporate events.
Additionally, there are two spacious and elegant holiday apartments in the Manor House and a Victorian holiday cottage. Fursdon hosts a very small number of special wedding receptions each year and small corporate events can be catered for.

House and Garden
We welcome group visits to Fursdon and these can be arranged through the office, when the house is not normally open to the public.
Small groups of less than 20 people can come on Wednesdays or Thursdays, our public open days, by arrangement.
A guided tour of the house takes between 45 minutes and 1 hour but do allow some time for a stroll in the gardens. When possible you will be welcomed by a member of the family before being shown round by an experienced guide.
There is a reduction in ticket price for groups of 20 or more and there are several options. We can accommodate one coach and up to 48 people at a time. Parties of this size will be taken round the house in two groups by two guides.
Please contact Catriona or Judi at the Estate Office
