Home of the 12th Duke and Duchess of Marlborough and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, this masterpiece of 18th century baroque architecture boasts over 300 years of history.

As a World Heritage Site, Blenheim is surrounded by more than 2000 acres of ‘Capability’ Brown landscaped Parkland and Formal Gardens.

We are located eight miles north-west of Oxford, on the A44 Evesham Road. The Palace is signposted from junction nine of the M40. 

Bus: The S3 bus service to Woodstock runs every 30 minutes from Oxford train station and Oxford's Gloucester Green bus station to the gates of Blenheim Palace. Oxford Bus Company's 500 service leaves from Oxford Parkway and stops at Blenheim Palace and Woodstock. Show your bus ticket at the gate to receive a 30% discount on entry. 

Train: Nearby train stations include Oxford, Oxford Parkway and Long Hanborough.

Coach: Regular services run from London Victoria Coach station to Gloucester Green in Oxford.

Things to See

Fun Facts
  • Prior to the early 18th century, before Blenheim Palace was built, the grounds were used as a royal hunting ground and deer park.
  • The site is also home to largest collection of ancient oaks trees with the 'The King Oak' estimated to be over 1000 years old.
  • In 1914, Blenheim Palace was used as a convalescence hospital for wounded soldiers during WWI.

We have a number of walks at Blenheim Palace:

  • Formal Gardens (1.5 mile or up to 1hr walk)
  • Lake & Grand Cascade (1 mile circular or 45 minute walk over uneven terrain)
  • Queen Pool (1.5 mile or up to 45 minute circular walk around the lake)
  • Park Perimeter (4.6 miles or 2 hour circular walk with some steep slopes)

Cinderella - A festive fairy tale experience

Explore the State Rooms, seasonally decorated and lavishly themed into the magical fairy tale fantasy world of Cinderella…
Wander along colonnades and through historic rooms filled with hidden surprises, the sights and sounds conjure up much-loved fairy tale characters.

The Stepmother’s drawing room set for Afternoon Tea, the Ugly Sister’s room is bright and bold, scattered with clothes, books and shoes. Whilst Cinderella’s room is home to her delicate hand-made gown. Walk further into the crystal world of The Fairy Godmother, then along to the Prince’s charmingly grand room.

Midnight strikes, the clocks all chime, and as the story ends, hang your own wish upon the Wishing Tree in the romantically candlelit chapel.

(NEW!) Christmas Market in the Great Court
Escape the bustle of the high street and soak up the festive atmosphere of our Christmas market set against the magnificent backdrop of Blenheim Palace. Within wooden chalets, the market will be filled with a variety of hand-picked irresistible gifts, unique works by a range of designers and tempting treats for foodies. With ceramics, textiles, homewares, leather goods, jewellery, toys, stationary, bags, hats and so much more, it is the perfect place to begin your Christmas shopping.
