Thirsk Hall Sculpture Garden showcases modern and contemporary art within 20 acres of garden and parkland belonging to Thirsk Hall, a historic grade II* listed Town House located in North Yorkshire. In addition to the outdoor sculptures there are also two indoor gallery spaces within the garden, The Orangery and Gallery One.

The Thirsk Hall Sculpture Garden is open to the public Wednesday – Saturday year-round. Please see our seasonal opening times below.

Thirsk Hall Sculpture Garden is situated next to St. Mary’s Church on Kirkgate in Thirsk, North Yorkshire.
The Garden is accessed through a wooden door to the right of Thirsk Hall, please ring the video doorbell for attention and one of our members of staff will come and let you in.
By Car
Thirsk Hall is easily found on Google Maps, just follow directions to YO7 1PL. Thirsk is located just off the A1 and the A19. It is 20 minutes from Ripon, 30 minutes from Harrogate, 40 minutes from York and 45 minutes from Leeds.
By Train
Thirsk has its own train station that is 20 minute walk from Thirsk Hall. LNER and Grand Central trains run regularly from Sunderland, Edinburgh, York and London. There are also direct trains from York, Leeds, Manchester and Liverpool with Transpennine. You can also book a taxi to collect from Thirsk Station for more flexibility during your stay.
By Bus
There is a regular bus service from Northallerton to Ripon which passes through Thirsk. The Thirsk Bus station is in the middle of the market square, which is a two-minute walk from Thirsk Hall.
By Plane
The nearest airports Leeds Bradford International Airport and Teesside International Airport which are both about a 40-minute drive from Thirsk Hall. A little further afield is Manchester International Airport & Liverpool John Lennon Airport; both with direct trains to Thirsk.
