It has been 60 years since the first Christmas trees were planted in woodlands at Doddington and in honour of this, this year’s theme is inspired by the carol ‘O Christmas Tree’. We’re creating a huge celebration of Christmas trees in every size, shape, form and material imaginable. Visitors will be able to see Christmas trees made from surprising and extraordinary things, Christmas trees as ball-gowns and of course a celebration of the very first Christmas tree dating back to Victorian times.
It’s an opportunity to soak up the festive atmosphere of Christmas in a treasured family home, which has seen a lot of Christmas mornings over its four hundred year plus history. A chance to see what the present day family and staff have created and to think about how Christmas may have looked and felt through the centuries.
